It took me 85 secs to transfer 51MB, so about 0.6MBps. That's the low end of expectations for USB Full Speed.
@JebBrilliant the too many connections is caused, I think, by having different access points defined. If your video streamer, web browser and IM all use the same APN you'll be fine. As soon as, say, Google Maps tries to use a different APN it will moan about having to close a connection. Very annoying.
Tried recorded several videos - still not getting stutter. Could it be a drive fragmentation issue??

Another thought - do you have anything else running that's accessing the mass storage at the same time as you're recording video? MP3 player, that sort of thing.

What resolution are you using to record the video? I use full res and I don't think I've had any stuttering. If you are, it might be worth dropping the res down.
